Guci Guesthouses
Pengosekan - Ubud - Bali
A place to feel " at home "
Selamat datang.
Welcome to Guci Guesthouses Bali. We are happy you found your way to our
website.
First, let us introduce ourselves. We are Nyoman, a Balinese man and Ulli, my wife of German origin. In 1986 we had a dream... and our dream was to create a paradise within a paradise. Not only a home for ourselves and our unborn son Daniel, but also a place to feel "at home" for our guests who were soon to arrive.
As a location for our paradise we choose Pengosekan, a small community a short walking distance from Ubud and surrounded by rice fields. We are close enough to shops and restaurants to fulfill all your needs, but located just off the center so you can enjoy the peace and quietness.
Ubud is ideally placed for daytrips to numerous places of interest both locally and slightly further away, and it is easy to arrange various forms of transport. In Ubud you can rent pushbikes, motorbikes and cars for independent travel. Or you may prefer to get a car with driver, sign up with one of the many organized tours which are offered in Ubud, or explore the area on foot. All is possible, and you'll soon find that Bali is the perfect island to spend a couple of weeks or more...
Guci Guesthouses started off as a small homestay, but now, more than twenty years later a lot has changed. From the outside Ubud has grown and you'll find many more shops and restaurants while you slowly stroll towards the center. Even here at Guci Guesthouses, returning visitors will also find many changes. The three guest bungalows have been totally rebuilt and now boast electricity and warm water. Also two houses have been built in the garden, as well as an art studio, please feel free to give them a visit. At the beginning of 2006 all three bungalows have been refurbished with new, stylish and even more comfortable furniture. New furniture for the houses has already been ordered and will arrive in the middle of this year.
Once you follow the path from the street you will find our office and get a glimpse of the lush garden. If we're not around please ring the bell and we will come to welcome you. Sit down, relax and make yourself comfortable.
While waiting for us you may meet one of our friendly long term staff, Wayan, Made and Desak, who not only keep Guci Guesthouses spotlessly clean but will also prepare and serve your breakfast in the morning.
We strongly believe a day on the island of Gods has to start with a treat, a good breakfast accompanied by tea or coffee. Every morning between 8.00 and 11.00 we serve a two course breakfast. To start freshly selected tropical fruits wet your appetite for the main course, which varies daily. Egg and vegetable jaffle, french toast (Balinese style) and pisang goreng (fried banana) are just some of the main breakfast courses we serve. Every day it'll be a surprise what Wayan, Made or Wayan will serve you. Of course the breakfast would not be complete without a floral decoration which comes straight out of our own garden, yes the one that you will be surrounded with while enjoying your breakfast. Selamat pagi, hope you'll have a nice day on Bali!
But for now from the comfort of your home, explore the Guci Guesthouses website to learn more about us. If you require more information, or would like to make a booking, please feel free to contact us. Once you're in Bali it would be wonderful to have you with us so we can share our dream with you. We are looking forward to meeting you.
Sincerely yours,
Nyoman, Ulli and Daniel.
